Top 10 Things Coming Soon to Walt Disney World: Part Two

One of our favorite things about Walt Disney World at The Traveling Mouse Company is new attractions! Some seem to spring up unexpectedly overnight, while others take years of research and development before they even begin to break ground. Regardless, we fans fawn over each minuet detail and anxiously await our chance to experience the latest and greatest that Walt Disney Imagineers have to offer!

In Top 10 Things Coming Soon to Walt Disney World: Part One, we discussed five upcoming attractions; Remy’s Ratatouille Adventure, La Crêperie de Paris, Tron Lightcycle Power Run, Disney’s Polynesian Village Resort’s Moana Makeover, and Harmonious!

Today, we’ve got five more coming your way! How many more new attractions can we expect before Walt Disney World’s 50th Anniversary is through? Well, as Walt said, “It will continue to grow as long as there is imagination left in the world. It is something that will never be finished.

Guardians of the Galaxy: Cosmic Rewind

“I AM GROOT.”

Okay, now that we got that out of the way, let’s talk about Guardians of the Galaxy: Cosmic Rewind at Epcot! Your journey begins in the “Galaxarium,” a planetarium-esque exhibition that explores marvels and mysteries that make up the galaxy. Suddenly, the Guardians of the Galaxy crash their way onto the scene and… well, you can guess what happens next – off you go on a wild adventure across the cosmos!

Walt Disney Imagineers are calling this new groundbreaking attraction a “storytelling coaster” due to the ride vehicle’s ability to rotate 360 degrees, forcing your focus towards the action. If that doesn’t get your blood pumping like Rocket Racoon during the Battle of Xandar, maybe this will sharpen your claws… Guardians of the Galaxy: Cosmic Rewind marks Disney’s first ever reverse launch coaster!

Roundup Rodeo BBQ

Yeehaw! Toy Story Land’s new fun-sized table-service restaurant is sure to have you sayin’, “what will the Imagineers come up with next?!?”

Andy has created a new rodeo arena using a few of his favorite toys, games, and a whole-lot-of scotch tape! Inside, you’ll be surrounded by all of the rodeo festivities in action as well as western town and train station play sets. You may even uncover some of your favorite characters strewn about, performing in the rodeo together!

This immersive restaurant will provide a unique and family-friendly dining experience that only Disney could create!

Space 2020 Restaurant

Get ready for a dining experience that is guaranteed to be out of this world!

Treated as an expansion of the Mission: SPACE pavilion, Space 220 will be an experiential dining event highlighting the celestial panorama of a space station, including views of Earth from 220 miles up. Guests will board a “special elevator” for a journey to a space station. Throughout, viewports will give you a real-time perspective as you travel high above the planet.

If you’re wondering if all this intergalactic hoopla will steal focus from the culinary side of things, rest assured. Space 220 is operated by the Patina Restaurant Group, the same crew that runs Enzo’s Hideaway, Morimoto, and The Edison.

Reimagining of Jungle Cruise

Disney Parks are always searching for new ways to plus-up classic attractions!

Next in line is the beloved Jungle Cruise! Now, believe it or not… the silly Jungle Cruise attraction you know and love today was not always presented in such a tongue-and-cheek manor. In fact, it used to take itself quiet seriously. However, as technology and audiences became more advanced, so did the attraction.

Now, continuing a tradition that Walt Disney started more than six decades ago when he first enhanced the Jungle Cruise, the new creative concept for our river’s journey will be original to Walt Disney Imagineering, just like the attraction itself. Disney has assured us that this update will “stay true to the experience we know and love – more humor, wildlife and skipper heart – and also reflect and value the diversity of the world around us.”

We simply can’t wait to take our first trip on the new and improved Jungle Cruise, canoe?

Moana: Journey of Water

Epcot is getting a bit of a facelift and with it comes some oceanic IP! Journey of Water will be the first official experience inspired by the hit film, “Moana.” That is, if you do not count the Disney’s Polynesian Village Moana Makeovers! This lush exploration trail invites you to meet and play with magical, living water. Keeping with Epcot’s time-honored tradition of edutainment, this immersive attraction will teach guests all about the importance of the natural water cycle and just like the movie, the water will have a life of its own with a rich story to tell.

BONUS: Dreamers Point

We Walt-fanatics couldn’t help ourselves… we just had to add this last one! If you’re a fan of the Partners Statue in Magic Kingdom, you’re going to love this new addition to World Celebration, honoring the legacy of the original dreamer, Walt Disney! In addition, this landscape will feature a captivating wishing tree in an enchanted forest and a story fountain celebrating the power and music of iconic Disney storytelling.
